Boooo...pregnant so can't use mooncup

Here goes, no period between ds1 & ds2. Thought 'won't let that happen again' and also, in preparation for the inevitable bought a mooncup. Was waiting waiting for AF so's I could use it and now?????? Pregnant again still no period.
Assuming I take as long to ovulate after this baby (11 months last time)I'm not going to get one til at leats jan 2010.
SO my poor little mooncup is sitting in my cupboard unused for another 18 months.

Can anyone find some sympathy for me?

(although no periods so far for 3 and a half years is a bonus I suppose )

No sympathy at all.........! Pesky periods still here.....

But know what you mean as I did buy mooncup 2 weeks before 1st pregnancy. Took me a while after periods came back before I dared stick anything up there again! So poor old mooncup had to wait even longer!!!

Heh - when I was trying to conceive and had tried practically everything else, I decided it was time to buy a Mooncup as obviously the minute I invested in it, I'd get pregnant and not need it for ages.

Luckily by the time I'd researched it a bit more, found out I was pregnant!

Still need to put about 15 boxes of tampons on Freecycle though. I have no idea where they all came from!

I only heard about mooncups when I came on MN. But, they sound such a good idea.

I'm ttc first child, and so putting off buying mooncup. I'm (obviously) hoping to get pg soon, and to have a vaginal birth (again hopefully ) and so don't want to get mooncup yet because I'd have to go up a size after birth.

I know I should just buy one, use it, and fate will probably make me fall pregnant.

Grrr, if only I could see into the future.

what on earth is a mooncup??? sorry if i sound really dense but i have never heard of one of them before. can anyone enlighten me please???

Wisknit · 02/08/2008 09:09

It is an alternative to tampons. a silicon cup. You can re-use them for years.

Sorry can't sympathise with anyone who doesn't get periods for 3.5 years and remains fertile... Do you know how lucky you are

My periods returned within a month of giving birth despite BF and with my 2nd pregancy my periods didn't stop until month 5!

Wisknit · 03/08/2008 10:32

Not whingeing about the lack of periods...just not getting to use the mooncup...
Poor you with 5 months of pregnant periods iyswim.

Thanks girland boy, I'm crap at technical stuff like links.

I'm going to buy a mooncup tomorrow!

Alishanty · 21/11/2008 22:25

I am in the same boat lol! Ds is 2 yrs, 3 mths and I bf him until a yr, no af all that time. I bought a mooncup, used it once and then discovered I was pg again lol! Now feeding 3 mth old dd so i guess I will not have af until I stop bf like last time. Not looking forward to the return of af but at least I have the mooncup for when they finally return!

What a weird conversation topic! Maybe I've missed something here, but shouldn't the OP be delighted that she's pregnant, rather than bemoaning the fact that she can't use her spanking new mooncup?

Weird.
