What's most "green" Ecover at 60 degrees, or regular biological at 40 degrees?

Just can't get some marks out with Ecover at low temperatures? Particularly DH's greasy head on pillow cases Yuk!

I think the argument is that the energy usage to get from 40 to 60 is much worse than the embodied energy difference in the different detergents, or the pollution levels associated with each.
Plus, with biological deterg. you can often wash successfuly at 30 degrees. There's a lady who writes for the Telegraph, Julia Hailes, arguing these points.
