me too! not got anything from there, just seem to offload lots of outgrown toys and clothes

KatyMac · 25/06/2008 23:12

I wonder if, with the 'credit crunch' less will be offered

I've not tried to freecycle yet... don't even know how it works... do you gain credits for all the things you freecycle and then can spend the credit on recycled things or is it much simpler than that and I've been spun a yarn?

ravenAK · 25/06/2008 23:32

Depends on local network! Usually your posts are on 'moderator approval' until you are established, & you are expected to offload before you start blagging. So you can't just register & immediately post 'Wanted: private island' iyswim...

But no, no 'credit' system. Much more straightforward.

Ahh - I see, thank you, of course it makes sense that freecycle 'vultures' don't develop!

Something else gone

I like this

I do wonder if people will be more greedy/selfish as costs rise

I'm picking up a load of firewood at the weekend - but all this stuff can be sold

I love getting rid of all the things that I don't need anymore, and most of which would have a very minimal resale value, or would just sit around waiting for me to do a car boot that would never come - and I'd just get more and more narked about the clutter.

Our Freecycle doesn't have an offer before wanted policy - they leave it to the members to decide who they offer things to.

Another one here just getting to grips with Freecycle. I have got rid of loads this week as DH is slowly sorting out the loft and I am having a serious declutter, trying to do a room at a time.
I must admit though, I am amazed at some of the items offered!
