Freecycle

I am new to Freecycle and I am still trying to figure out how it works. I have sent some messages that don't seem to appear anywhere: should I be able to see my own messages?
I posted a WANTED yesterday that is not on the list but some messages have appeared since then (so the organiser has processed stuff after mine). In the past I have responded to OFFERS but have had no reply (so I wasn't sure if the offeror never replied or never received the message in the first place). I even sent a message to the organiser about it but got no reply to that!!
I know that some things do get through because I have made contact with some offerors - the original contact does not show in Yahoo but the subsequent conversation does.

If I post in freecycle messages, should I see it in my sent box in Yahoo?

TIA

What sort of messages have you sent? If they are posts to the board then they should appear at some point. The board might be moderated though so might depend on what you have said/how strictly moderated.

Have you posted a WANTED without first making any OFFERS? Most Freecycle groups have a policy of fair play that means you must be willing to give before you receive.

When responding to offers, your emails should go direct to the person offering. It is up to them if they bother to reply to all respondents or not. IME very few bother to reply unless you have been successful and will be getting the item.

When you post in FC messages, are you posting to the board directly or via email? If to the board direct you will not keep any sort of copy, if by email then it will be in your sent box (Yahoo if that is the email you use)

Gosh I'm making a mess of this. I've just replied to you on the other thread too, KOMH!
I had forgotten about settings. I am set to special notices only and usually read messages off the website.

I didn't put the postcode on because we are a relatively small geographical area. I must admit that I haven't posted an OFFER yet - I wanted to get a feel for it before I start inviting random strangers to my house!

Thanks StG. I post via the site, not by email.

I think that I contacted the organiser by site and email.

Check the terms and conditions on your individual group.

The moderator may have stopped your posts because you haven't made an offer.

Agree with above, on our one you need to offer things first.
