Just moved into new rented house but it's all spotlights!!

In my last house I had all eco friendly lighting but at this one only my lamps are so I'm trying to use them as much as possible.

With it being rented I can't change anything either. Anyone know of spotlights that are eco friendly? I don't hold out much hope though.

I've put normal energy bulbs into my spotlight fittings at home. (I am assuming they are not the halogen type?)

If you are rich you can get LED bulbs at £100 a pop to replace the halogen spots.

LEDs are getting cheaper - we're putting LED spots into the kitchen in the new house and they are way less than £100 and are meant to last for years and years. Actually considering the amount of halogen spots we've got through in this house £100 doesn't sound unreasonable...

Yes, I was exaggerating a little...But they are expensive. Also bear in mind that they do not give off as much light as the halogens so substituting one for one will probably still need supplementing with something else. Or, as some friends ended up doing, they did half and half. MrsBadger, if you are doing them from scratch in your new house, just make sure you space them closer together than the halogens.

LEDs work, but are not as bright. You can also get spotlight versions of low voltage ligting, but they have a bit of a blueish tinge ime.

My LEDs cost the same as the economy light bulbs.
