Exciting, ecofriendly alternative to light sticks for school disco needed

Please help Mumsnetters. I'm organising the school disco this year and traditionally the kids get one of those nuclear powered flourescent light sticks to wave at each other, as they come in. I'd love to find an alternative product to give them instead . . . .

Hmm - seems that Glowbracelets are only £7.50 for a hundred. Bother. That makes for a small budget for an alternative.

What about bubbles instead - or would that be a health and safety issue with lots of slippy bubble mixture on the floor?

Thanks OYBBK - great idea, though I suspect you are right. 200 spilt bottles of bubbles could be v. messy. However, it's a start . . . . .

surely there's as much plastic in a bottle of bubbles as a light stick?

Or is plastic not the issue here but the weird liquid which maked them glow?

Exciting and ecofriendly don't normally go together unless you have a HUGE budget ime

Perhaps make those rythmic gymnastic ribbons on sticks?
