Living room flooring

I'm looking at updating the flooring in my living room and study (open plan). I don't want carpet but would like something sustainable, durable, budget friendly and easy to clean.

Any suggestions and resources for information would be welcomed, there is so much out there I don't know where to start!

Thank you 🙂

Good old laminate.
Not ceramic tiles as they would be too cold.
Parquet flooring if you can afford it.

Laminate is plastic - hardly sustainable.

Bamboo?

We have cork flooring, which is really sustainable as the trees are not cut down to harvest it. It also feels lovely underfoot, and is very easy to install. Ours is from the Colour Flooring Company, although there are slightly cheaper suppliers out there I believe, but we chose this one as it doesn't need sealing like some cork floors do.
