Making your own potpourri - what to use as fixative?

I have lavender, rosemary and roses growing in my garden and I want to start making my own potpourri to scent the house.

I am drying the flowers I picked & plan to also add lavender oil & dried orange peels, but I read that you need to add some kind of fixative to prolong the scent.

I read about 'orris powder' being something that can be used?

Can I ask what people have used as fixatives and where to source the product?

We only have two local small health shops that usually have very limited supplies so I might have to order something instead.

Fixative is optional. You can just add a bit more oil when it fades.
