I have signed it, although I am not completly against the bio- idea.

No, it's not the bio idea that's the problem - it's rushing headlong into it with no thought for the people whose lives will be adversely affected by it, and indeed the environmental problems caused by not doing it properly. It's blindly striving to meet targets that haven't really been thought out.

Biofuels yes, but not at the further expense of rainforest or food crops for poor people. How about recycling chippy oil first?

they're very bad news for the rain forests of S. America.

the world's 'lungs'.

and for the indigenous peoples' being displaced by the destruction of these forests.

and for the species who live there, too, of course.

It is bad news to use bio-fuels from virgin Palm Oil, which is made by cutting into the rainforest.

Biofuel can be made with vegetable oil or even better waste vegetable oil...which is carbon netural and very green with no affect on the rainforest.
