Where can I find info on what types of plastic can be recycled?

Our local authority have started collecting plastic bottles - 'not cartons, just bottles' said the helpful lady I spoke to today but no one could tell me which type. I know that there are triangular marks with '1, PET' '2 HDPE' etc on containers - but which ones are recyclable??

The LA website just says 'Plastic'

ours takes any plastic bottles afaik.
have a look on your local council website- ours has a list of what can and can't be recycled.
if they say "plastic bottles" and don't indicate which type then assume they will take them all.

sorry, just re-read your OP properly and seen that you've already looked on the website.
