calculating carbon emissions

We travel regularly to visit family in Germany.

We have travelled by train (most expensive), plane (quite a bit cheaper) and car (cheapest but gruelling).

I would like to compare the carbon emissions of each way of travelling.

Anyone know of a good easy to use website that will allow me to do that?

I know the train is the greenest option, but I would like to know how that compares with the car.

read something on this recently, train is definitely better, but if your car is full (of people) that helps...might have been on Leo Hickman's pages, you can find him on the grauniad ws.

Thanks Gertie

According to that travelling by car with 4 people in it is only slightly worse than the train.
