Anyone used Miniml?

Trying to get more eco friendly in the home. Washing power/Washing up liquid / cleaned products. I did make my own laundry liquid, but as we live in a hard water area it really hasn't been effective in the cleaning stakes. Have come across miniml online, which have eco friendly laundry detergent etc and you can return your empties. Anyone used this products? Is the laundry detergent actually effective in hard water?? can't seem to find any reliable reviews online

I use the washing up liquid which I can get from a local refill store. I find it fine and we have very hard water.

I've tried the shampoo and conditioner refills, the pink grapefruit ones. Found it nice, gentle and not too strong smelling. I didn't rate the washing up liquid a couple of years ago, but then heard miniml improved it shortly after. I use BioD washing up liquid. Not tried the laundry products.

I get it from our refill shop. I prefer ecover though to be honest.

@soapcollector
I just recently tried the washing up liquid. Not a fan. It's gloopy and doesn’t lather up in our hard water. Laundry seems OK, but grass and oil stains still need a splash of awful chemicals

Have you tried soda crystals or soda liquid? Or vinegar in the laundry/washing up water? Our flat is in the most hideously hard water area and without using one of these it's impossible for us to keep things even halfway clean. I'm currently working in a soft water area (just about the only thing going for it but that's another story) and the difference is astonishing.

We buy the eco laundry sheets. Seem to be working well.

I also use soap nuts to soften the water.

@ExcusesExcuses Thanks for letting me know about the current miniml washing up liquid, sounds like it's no better than before! Think I'll stick with BioD for now, I buy the 5 litre containers and they seem to last over a year. I like it as it's fragrance free so no itchy hands!

For laundry powder we've gone back to Aldi or Lidl own brand powder, cheap, works well and the cardboard box can be recycled 🙂

We love Reco Laundry Sheets. They are great at getting stains out at 30, they are super compact, plastic free and I love a subscription so you get a discount!

We've tried everything here and are finally happy. I wasn't a fan of an eco egg and even less so of soapnuts!

@SoapCollector these take up way less space than powder and are way easier, although arguably they are a bit more expensive.

We also use the washing up block and bamboo scrubbers which I love but Reco has stopped selling the washing up block so if anyone can recommend another one I'm all ears!
