i have just finished reading Khaled Hosseinis A Thousand Splendid Suns. about the saddest thing ive ever read.
and i want to help.
i have stacks of used baby/small child clothes and womens clothes. i want to send them directly to an orphanage in Kabul, if they'll have them. i suspect they will. i can send bedding too... in fact, if it will help i can perhaps buy a container and spend some time gathering other supplies to send...
anyway, ive found a website for aschool/orphanage and i want to make sure its legit before i send this stuff. i want to help women and children in afghanistan, not already well off warlords etc.
so can anyone who knows about how to do these things work out if this site and orphanage are for real? www.afghanorphans.org/index.html

i'll also donate to UNHCR, as Mr Hosseini mentions them at the end of the book. but, since i have this stuff, id like it to go to somewhere where its needed.
