Is there any point in complaining?

So I went to the till and the assistant immediately reached for a bag. "I've got a bag here" said I. "No", she replied, "You have to take one of our bags"!

I replied that I didn't want one of their bags and, I swear, she sulked throughout the whole of the rest of the transaction. Couldn't get rid of me quickly enough.

Worth complaining to the company?

i would. i get fed up in our local spa-you have to say immediatly that you dont want a bag-else its done with no question.then they think its odd-no bag, really, what?i mentioned to the manager whos a friend and now theyre not quite so eager-they ask but still shocked when you dont

We-e-e-ell, I hesitate to say it here in "Ethical Living".

It was Primark.

Yes, complain, ask what their policy is

redwino · 26/02/2008 10:46

I have heard about Primark doing this. They clim it is for 'security' reasons. Surely if you have a receipt security shouldn't be a problem?
I went in a local hardware shop and told the assistant I didnt want a bag and he threw the bag on the floor as if it was now unuseable because I didn't want it!
With regard to someons saying you have to take a bag I would just say "No I don't "

Sherbert37 · 26/02/2008 10:55

More issues with Primark than just giving out bags, I'm afraid.

redwino · 26/02/2008 17:46

Me too Sherbert.
Hate the place.
