Best dishcloths?

DH and I are in a horrid habit of using kitchen / pan sponges and kitchen roll.

We have tried dishcloths (microfibre) and they were horrible to use. We keep going back to the same old cheap sponges and kitchen roll.

Can anyone recommend the best dishcloths that are machine washable? That don't fall apart? That can scrub clean a ceramic dish?

We use them for dishwashing, wiping down worktops and other surfaces.. (I would need to buy several!)

Usually I'd check in Lakeland but they closed ours down and traveling 100 miles up the motorway seems silly. 😁

Crochet dishcloths are nice. If you can't make your own, you can buy them on Folksy or Etsy.

MInky soak ups. There’s nothing like them.

Yellow compostable sponges are what you need - machine wash fine, last months. Add one of those metal scrubby things for burnt pans. And bamboo kitchen roll - washable (they come on a roll to start off with but as you tear them off they then go in the wash (chuck mine straight in the washing machine after use to go on with any load, then keep in a basket on the windowsill) so absorbent, I love them! Have experimented with dishcloths but they invariably end up looking like old man's holey underpants.

I use the good white dishcloths - last lot I got were from a car boot sale. Can be boiled and bleached and I've had them for years. For floor mopping/big jobs I have a stash of Terry nappies that I know are at least 14 years old (since ds was potty trained).

I have enough so I can stick them in the wash every day - they go in with all colours.
