Where can I find a second hand freezer?

Tried freecycle and ebay. where do all the tall upright freezers go once people have finished with them? Hopefully this means that people keep them for years and don't just dispose of them as quickly as they do other household items.

Go to your local tip and bung the worker there a few quid they have loads there.

Just make sure that it's worth having. I was given a second hand fridge freezer and, after an electricity bill that was about 120 quid more than I was expecting, I bought a brand new A rated one which was a lot cheaper.

I was going to suggest freecycle but I see you've already tried there. Keep trying though as one is bound to come up at some point or, if you post a wanted every now and again, people might be spurred into offering you theres if they upgrade etc.

We got a fridge/freezer from there on Boxing Day which was an absolute lifesaver as you can imagine (house full of food, guests and ours decide to stop working -aargh!)

Also try googling for organistaions in your area that sell reconditioned ones or furniture projects that sell second hand ones maybe.

Often on your local freecycle website it will list organisations like that -on ours its under "Links" on the home page.
