Moving to Australia

Hi. Me and my family are looking to migrate to Australia. We are thinking Perth but has anyone taken their family and could advise what it is like for families with things to do etc? I'm just worried as it's a very isolated place.
Thanks

I suggest asking Mumsnet to move this to a more relevant board - you're unlikely to get many answers here.

Try Chat, or Living Overseas.

My BF is about to move to Perth. They have researched it and feel its a very good place to bring up children, good schools, apparently very pretty, decent weather of course, much higher salaries (or certainly for medics).

You say its an isolated place but I guess how often do you really need travel outside of your local city and surrounding suburbs/ small towns.

My mum used to live there as an older woman by herself and didn’t like it, but I do know there’s lots to do and like a lot of Australia a very outdoorsy lifestyle families enjoy. It’s really hot though. Absolutely boiling hot. Plenty of snakes in the garden too!

A policeman friend moved there, has since returned - too many drug problems, but he was just outside the city. Very hot, plenty of things want to kill you

I have made another thread. Thank you! I don't use this much so not sure what I'm doing!

Thanks for your replies. We are looking either Perth or Brisbane. Not sure where is best for family!

The thing about Australia is that you can't just pop to the neighbouring town because it has a good butcher or whatever. Everywhere is so far from everywhere else.
I think Perth is particularly isolated though.
