Ethical and sustainable furniture

We’re starting right from scratch with a full house of furniture and will choose most stuff likely second hand but for a few items like a big sectional and good quality beds, where would you go to find ethical and sustainable furniture made in the U.K. to also cut down on travel miles?

For mattresses and bedding I'd look at woolroom or similar. If you have a bespoke kitchen manufacturer locally they should have the skills and equipment to build pretty much any home cabinetry. Or a traditional cabinet/furniture maker or upholsterer.
