RUBBISH service from green companies - it makes me SO ANGRY!

I am seething...
We ordered some lovely paint from Womersleys (green paint company) on Friday, with next weekday delivery.
Turned up on Monday, but one of the tubs had broken.
I told Womersleys about this before their pick-up time that day, but they said they were short-staffed so would send it the next day.
Wednesday comes: no sign of paint. Couriers say it never arrived.
Thursday call couriers again: no paint in system.
THE DECORATORS FINISH TOMORROW AND I HAVE NO PAINT FOR THEM!

This is NOT the first time this has happened (exact same thing happened with Ws with a friend of mine), and I've had DREADFUL service from too many green companies.
It is SO ANNOYING! I want to buy their (ludicrously expensive) green stuff but all it does is cause me grief, I don't know if I can bear it any longer.

Have I just been unlucky or have other people felt that service isn't one of the things that eco/ethical companies care too much about?

I had some recycling bins from the Natural Collection and they arrived bashed around and cracked. I asked them to replace the one that was too damaged to use, and they said they had to replace all of them. I then waited for ages for them to pick them up and send new ones, only to find the same thing had happened. I called up again and they arranged a collection but no one came. I couldn't be bothered to make a fuss about it and I wanted to use them rather than wait months for them to be replaced, so we are now using broken recycling bins. To be honest I think it was the delivery company rather than NC which was to blame, and I've had no probs with smaller items, but I don't think they dealt with it very well.

I've always found Traidcraft to be very good. One Christmas I even ordered some decorations from their sale, intending to keep them for the next year, and they arrived in time to put on the Christmas tree.

Interesting you've had trouble too, mummypig. I think in the case of this latest lot of paint it's because they don't package it! It was just sent as a paint pot with a label on it... And yes, I'm all for reducing packaging etc. etc., but there's no saving at all when the things have to be sent out 3 times and are wasted!

Frothy, I like the Green Shop too, though we did order some tester pots from them, which were promised for the next day - 3 days later I rang to say where are they and they said oh, well, we didn't have all the colours you want in stock, it'll be another couple of weeks, so we were waiting... NOT helpful when you're trying to paint a house!

This reminds me of katymac's thread a few days ago about why does ethical living have to be such hard work!
