Decluttering useable pens to charity

I have 100s of pens which are full of ink. It will take multiple lifetimes to use them all up. Does anyone know of a charity I could donate them to so they can be used? I have tried to research this but the one I found has discontinued, it would send pens to foreign countries so kids could go to school.

Could you not donate them to your local secondary school for them to dish out to anyone who has forgotten their pen? A friend of mine who is a secondary teacher says she always buys a big box of cheap pens out of her own money at the start of term, so she can give them out as needed.

Or put them on Freecycle.

Agreed, I'm a secondary school teacher and have been known to give out 20+ pens daily. Getting them back from the kids is always a nightmare and with covid, I've just been telling them to keep the pen - it's costing me a fortune!

Also, if they don't have a pen for your lesson, and you take it back, they'll need another for the next one.

Old thread but ask your local charity shop. I'm a volunteer and we're always scrabbling around looking for pens. They're not something which the charity supplies and when we are running out we often have to go to Tesco and buy a couple of packs out of our own pockets. (Well, we could probably claim them on expenses but nobody does).

We would LOVE a donation of a bag of biros!
