Feel so bad, someone just told me about how many per child 🙈💩
What can I do?

Have you tried cloth nappies? When I was pregnancy I cringed at the idea of them but after a bit of research I realised how easy they were to wash.

All mine are out of nappies now. I have 4 kids (inc twins) and they all
Had disposable for at least 2.5 year each.
🙈🙈how can I make up for this?

Well I don’t think you can. We all have done things which were pretty shit for the environment. All you can do is better from now. Sit down as a family and think about how you want to go forward. And encourage all your children to do the same- their carbon footprint will be big.

Did they definitely go to landfill? Where I live all waste is incinerated, not sure if it's better environmentally etc maybe you could buy some cloth nappies for someone in need to sort of offset?

It's all a balance isn't it, we can only do what we can as individuals whilst also meeting the needs of your family. I used re-usuble nappies but I often tumble dried the terry cloth part and I couldn't afford that many so I used all that water and electricity to wash them every single day for 6 years in total, this hadn't occurred to me before buying them. So you've saved on that. In the end the plastic covers wore out so they still went into the landfill in the end. You can't change the past you can only look at your life now and see if there are changes you could make that work for you and the environment.

Plant trees!

Set up a cloth nappy library to help others avoid doing the same? Bit of an extreme commitment though. More realistically, spread the word about reusable stuff you use now... san-pro maybe? Or write to shops asking them to stock reusables and make them more affordable.

Oh and don't beat yourself up!!
