DS' school has harvested the worms from their wormery and now I have a cup of them sitting next to me - will they survive...

until ds can put them in our composter tomorrow morning in the daylight?

They seem to be in some compost, but I'd actually forgotten about them sitting in the car for the last few hours.

the cup is warm btw...ewwwwww

I was horrified at my DD's school, I was the only mum who harvested some worms for the Eco club to set up their wormery [smug non worm phobic mother]

Then the teacher and the TA both watered it weekly, thinking the other wasn't doing it.

What did DD's eco club learn? Worms can't swim.

Hope they make it to the morning, if your worried I should just pop them in a flowerbed and let them free-range!

I was tempted to bung them in myself, but thought ds should have the pleasure. But if they're going to be dead by morning I could just hope he forgets about them - unlikely though.

I got 20 worms for a pound - bargain!

Maybe if you have a kitchen caddy they could go in there till morning? I don't know... worms always just appear in our compost bin without any intervention!

EmsMum · 15/11/2007 21:11

Surely they wont mind being warm - compost heaps get well hot!

Kitchen caddy is an idea!

Our composter is packed full of worms too, but felt I should be seen to be keen at school

gawd let them make their own way now.

let them loose in a field somewhere.

bobsmum · 15/11/2007 21:13

I think it's the worms making the cup warm - the house is a fridge.
