Another cloth pad question

I have a set of imse vimse which I love but they do seem to be losing their softness a little as you cant wash with fabric conditioner .

So how do you keep yours soft. Can i use vinegar? Does that affect absorbancy like softener or is it ok to use?

Does it work with the fleece ones as well?

I use vinegar for mine, seems to be working well.

Do they smell of vinegar after?

No, but I only use a capful.

Well I've just put them in the wash now with some vinegar so hopefully they will soften up now.

Well the vinegar and putting them in the dryer in a low heat for 20-30 mins seems to have made a difference. I hope that drying them hasnt damaged them.
