Alternative to Chinese-made toys?

I have a 6mo DS who I would like to get a few more toys for now he's big enough to sit up and interested in grabbing everything. But I suspect everything in Mothercare, ELC etc is Chinese-made... following the recent worries over safety, and no doubt appalling working conditions, I'd like to find an ethical website that still does colourful and not too spendy toys for babies. Any recommendations?

Unicef have some lovely toys. Don't know about safety guarantees but definitaly no exploitation.

Although made in Thailand PinToy/John Crane seem better than most.

Bebeco do some lovely 100% organic cotton and also replenishable rubber wood toys. Have a look here www.bebeco.co.uk/index.asp?function=DISPLAYCAT&catid=101
