Please help me find some warm trousers!

I'm looking for some warm trousers. I really like Uniqlo's fleece lined trousers here but I can't bring myself to buy something with so much polyester which might end up in the ocean.

Can anyone recommend warm trousers? Not a fan of skin tight stuff (or tights for that matter).

One thought is to buy the trousers I want and also one of those giant polyester fibre catching bags to wash them in. What do you think?

Thanks.

Corduroy trousers are warm. Also flannel/wool flannel... but then you have the difficulty of washing them without shrinkage.
Could you not wear cotton leggings under what you normally wear? (Obviously won't work if you usually wear skinny jeans)

Thanks haba. I usually wear straight trousers but they're quite thin, so as you say I think I'll have to just put leggings under. I'll checkout some corduroy/flannel/wool options too.

Maybe try for secondhand? Still some issued with shedding fibres but fewer issues with production and the worst of the fibres will already have been washed away

I haven't got any suggestions sorry, just wanted to share an article about uniqlo - unfortunately they're not a very ethical company anyway, in terms of how they treat their workers.

Sorry to be late replying to this thread.

@FelicityBeedle I'm happy to go with secondhand for a lot of other things, but personally I just can't with trousers - but thanks for the suggestion.

@rockingchaircandle Thanks very much for that link. I wasn't aware of that.

For the past week I've been layering with leggings, so maybe that's the best way forward.

Yes Bamboo I've been layering sox too for years, we live in house with a totally tiled ground floor so it gets very cold. (I wear my old cotton/elastic waist dance trousers under my jeans). It is useful that I've lost weight recently Grin.
