Need advise on housing

I'm currently 22weeks pregnant and I live in a tiny 1 bedroom flat private rented and I get my rent paid for me by universal credit. I live with my partner who has just started a unpaid trial for 4 weeks for a part time job. The only room we have for a cot would be our living room and even that is small! I don't know if we would be able to look for a 2 bedroom flat whilst I'm still pregnant or have to wait till after he's born? Even if we did would I get help towards the rent costs as he would be working 20 hours a week. I'm worried about having the baby and we won't have the room for anything. Any advice?
(Unsure what topic to put it under)

You can absolutely look for one now there's no 'bedroom entitlement' when it comes to private renting like there is with council housing. With private you can rent any size property you want/can afford!
It's with council you'd have to wait until they're born.

I'm not sure about UC. Probably worth doing a benefit calculator with what will be the hours wages to see how much you'll be eligible for once trial is over!
