Composting fruit stones?

Can you put peach and plum stones etc in a compost? (and do they then compost and not stay hard)

Was reading my instructions and it said no stones or fat... i assume it meant no stones from the beach etc but i imagine as peach stones etc are so large and hard wouldn't they take AGES to break down in a composter?

they really grow Katymac? have you ever grown them on in a pot? oh the joy of having your own peach tree....mmmmmm.....

Plum have grown better than peach

But I put them in a pot & then they die of thirst

I bought a peach tree for 19.99 & an apricot for 29.99 - the apricot have 9 fruit on it this year (size of shop bought peaches) & the peach has 3 unripened peaches (size of shop bought apricots)
