Can you put broken plastic toys into plastic recycling collections?

Especially those small toys that come free with magazines then break within weeks.

Our local council has a recycling A - Z on their website, which lets you check what things they will and won’t accept in the kerbside recycling bins / recycling centres etc.

What councils will accept for recycling may vary from place to place, but here, they won’t accept toys in the kerbside recycling bins.

We can take toys to the councils recycling centres, they’ve got a separate skip there for rigid plastics (like the sort toys are usually made of).
