No Gas/Private Landlord

We found out yesterday that we have 2 gas leaks, told landlord and he told us to sort it ourselves. I called northern grid and they came fix one problem but the other the landlord has to arrange to sort out. In the mean time turned off out gas, we have no heating or hot water. I need some legal advice. He has a man come round today and has been told that he needs to RIP up the flooring and we need to move out whilst he does this. Landlord has said hes trying to sort somewhere for us to stay. Our tenancy ends at the end of June can we ask him if we can end it there, so he can do that work plus sort out the damp flooring under the carpet in the bedroom. We have told him about the damp a couple of months back and nothing has happened. It's not safe for us to be here but what can we do?

Any good LL should have a gas safety/maintenance certificate done by Gas company yearly & you should be able to view this
Personally, I would move & find somewhere else to live
