Dishwasher v washing up?

As a widower , what is better for the environment washing up after each meal or stacking the dishwasher and running once a week with hot rinsing inbetween times? As a single I dont have a lot of dishwashing to do.

If I were you I would catch cook, freeze things down, use the DW for all the cooking stuff & use microwave for your daily meals & wash up those little bits. Would be loads cheaper on your food bills too.

Why would you wash up 'bits' daily when there's bound to be room in the dishwasher? Dishwashers wash at higher temperatures than you do by hand and use less water too. Put the dishwasher on when it's full and use your time for more interesting things.
