We are just about to enter the world of birthday parties. What ethical and not expensive party bags options are there for 3 year olds please?

We did books - split a pack of 10 from the book people

I agree with a ‘gift’ rather than party bag for less waste. Books are good. We went to a football party where they all got a football which has been very well used but I would imagine it costs quite a bit for 20+ footballs!

Packet of seeds, sweets or chocolate in compostable packaging, bird seed, charity shop lucky dip maybe...

As pp suggested books. For ds last Birthday I got some Lego activity sticker books from home bargains they were 79p each.

We also did books from the Book People for DS1's 3rd and 4th birthdays. Another idea is a Lanka Kade wooden animal each.

We did a sweet shop instead of party bags. Everyone had a turn at the pick and mix on the way out.

Paper sweet bags and no waste.

we did paper bags.
put in a small click lid snack box of sweets in there (used as prize in a treasure hunt game) and a pen and small note book.

A party I was at recently did a mini pic n mix. Each child got a cup which they could then fill with sweets. Kids loved it

karmakameleon · 09/03/2019 20:44

The best one we have had recently was a small pot with some bulbs in. The children were very excited to plant them!

Thanks everyone. We wanted to stay away from sweets (allergies and being too little for Haribo style) and DD has chosen books.

Baking bags and gardening bags seem to be popular at the moment. Books are always a good choice too.
