What do I do with unwanted VHS cassettes?

We replaced our DVD player recently, and no longer have a player for our VHS cassettes, which are just taking up space. We haven't got that many - possibly about 30-40, and some of them are home recordings which we will keep to transfer onto DVDs at some point.

I wondered if charity shops would take them, but from what I can see this is no longer the case.

It seems a terrible shame to just chuck them out, as well as being wasteful.

Anyone have any ideas?

I put mine on Freecycle. Some guy came and collected the lot the next day

There are quite a few collectors around. Try Freecycle or gum tree, there will probably be someone who wants them

I tried giving mine to charity shops a few years ago, none would take them as they had no demand for them anymore.. a little sad really, ended up taking them to the tip, made my husband do that,..!

Freecycle is a good idea, thanks. Did you list the titles or did they just come and take the lot?
