Feeling despondent

I just feel that all these little improvements I make ie. using Splosh products to cut down on plastic, bar soap instead of shampoo/shower gel, using the car less (though this is tricky living rurally on a virtually non existent bus route) not using foil/cling film etc etc that it just isn't enough!
And that my feeble attempts are thwarted by the vast majority of people who aren't doing these things!
Am I REALLY making a difference? Because it doesn't feel like it when I see all the packaging etc in supermarkets and how others are just carrying on willy nilly. Sigh....

I think very slowly but surely a consumer movement is emerging that will influence manufacturers etc. to some extent. But I agree, it seems pointless sometimes. Laws will need to change, regulation is the only way IMO.

I don't think it makes a difference but I feel better about avoiding single use plastics etc.

It makes more difference if you bring up children so they view your ways as normal - mine have adopted my habits in varying degrees. As they get older, they take more interest.

Other people sometimes join in - I've been using reusable shopping bags for years - long before they started charging for carrier bags. Several friends made the change because they got where I was coming from.
