All those bubble-inducing chemicals?

The main active agent is Sodium Laureth Sulfate -- and other stuff also in shampoo. In fact, shampoo makes a very good bubble bath.

See example list; compare to your shampoo bottle, not a lot between them!

I think try to find one without perfumes or colours, but really, not too horrendous(?).

I use this - bubbles and its SLES and paraben free.

Smells lovely and and makes a great foam bath and a nice shower gel/body wash.

ooops, link went to the entire page!

I use the lavender and geranium one - but i think i will be getting the chocolate one for the boys birthdays - that one smells delish...

I don't know about environmentally wise but certainly skin friendly wise they are the spawn of satan. It wasn't until we had ds nearly 6 years ago and he reacted to most so called childs 'washing' products and the chemicals they use that we saw the light so to speak. We now use Jason products and they are really lovely, would take me alot to swap to something else.

Furball can you link to Jason products or say where you can buy them. I ususally use Aveeno for my 2 but have to get it from USA.

Desiderata · 06/06/2007 17:51

The answer is to use less bubble-inducing chemicals ... and to bathe our kids less.

They really don't need to be fully bathed as often as many of them are. No one ever stops to question the waste of water ... and I'm not even particularly 'environmental.'

Furball · 06/06/2007 18:34

here's the jason website. I get them from our local health shop but you can get them on line here and there is more products than you care to shake a stick at.

We use.

what we do use is Glycerin and rosewater and that is:-

Satin Shower Body wash - also makes great bubble baths and ds uses it for shampoo. One bottle lasts 3 of us using for at least one shower a day - 6 months ish.

Satin soap for hands and face - again one bottle in the downstairs toilet lasts for yonks.

hand and body lotion - fab suff, doesn't last at all long but I have a big body

Tried the shampoo but found it abit hard to get out of the bottle but now use the shower body wash for ds and it's fine.
