Yep deffo... sustainable is a better tag (eco/organic doesn't necessarily mean good... think fair trade flowers from Kenya... all those airlines). I am a lecturer in Sustainable Development if that helps and you need any advice?

monkeymonkeymoomoo · 21/05/2007 19:10

sorry should say air miles not airlines.. blame the Pinot Grigio I am currently drinking

Katymac · 21/05/2007 19:11

is there enough storage?

Sustainable means using local suppliers, fair prices for local people and preserving resources for future generations. It's all about preserving the same or equal resources for future generations.

One of the fundamental principles it hangs on is involving 'stakeholders' or in other words people who will be affected by your nursery. So keeping local people, potential parents (and children) and staff involved in the planning process also ensuring that they benefit from it too.

monkeymonkeymoomoo · 21/05/2007 19:15

Resources is a broad term includes environmental, human (social) and economic

monkeymonkeymoomoo · 21/05/2007 19:18

BTW there is a good nursery near here that is doing something similar to you see... here

Sorry pinballwizard - there is storage on the mezzanine floor (the bit at the top)

Or that might be where my office ends up - as he has put it in the kitchen & that really isn't practical

Couldn't put the staff room up there - that would be discriminatory (I think)
