Mending a zip on a rucksack?

Hi. The zipper (bit you pull) has come off one side of the zip teeth on a rucksack and we can't seem to get itback on. Is there any way to fix this? If not it has to go to landfill I think.

If it’s just the puller - can you get a key ring or piece of ribbon or something through in its place?

Is it a mountaineering brand - they will often repair their own equipment, sometimes for free. Or Alpkit will repair other
Manufacturer’s stuff at their shops (Hathersage and Ambleside). Scottish Mountain Gear also repair outdoor kit. There’s a form to fill in on their website for a quote.

If it’s s more fashiony brand, try a seamstress/dry cleaner who does repairs to replace it.

Xthe puller pulls fine! But doesn't close the zip, it just zooms back and forth.

It's a very cheap outdoorsy sort of rucksack. It may well be that the poor zip quality is one of the reasons for the very low price

Could you sew in a replacement zip or get someone to do so? It can probably be done though depending on the design might be more or less fiddly.

Thank you all. I think I have been in denial about the replacement zip but it is clearly the right answer!

Your local shoe repair shop should be able to replace it
