I have recently become a bit preoccupied with eating in a cleaner and more responsible way, and one day I ran into this awful article regarding the farmed prawn/shrimp industry in Vietnam/Thailand- and a few other Eastern countries. I was at turns disgusted and saddened about the truly horrific things I discovered. I haven't touched a prawn since, as I gather most of the prawns we import come from those cruel, grim places. But I really miss eating them as I used to cook a lot with them. I was wondering if anybody knew where to buy (reasonably priced!!) responsibly sourced prawns. Are Canadian or Icelandic ones different? As I think you can get these in Ocado etc. I don't have the budget to go buying in specialist seafood websites where the shrimp is British, but also I don't want to eat things caught or farmed unethically (and in gross unsanitary conditions too.)
Anyone knows where to buy "guilt-free" ish but without taking out a second mortgage to fund our paellas? Any clue would be gratefuly received, thank you xx
