I'm trying to reduce my plastic usage within th household. I get my meat from a local butchers and am trying to do a monthly order with them. Any suggestions on how to freeze large quantities of meat without using clingfilm/plastic bags? Thanks all.

Freezer paper. Works very well, it’s kinda like grease proof paper but a bit thicker.

We butchered 2 deer and they are both wrapped in freezer paper

I was going to say freezer paper too

I'd be more worried about the electricity for running the freezer than a few plastic bags.

So, freezer paper. I’ve never heard of it. Where do you buy it from? Does it stop meat from getting freezer burn (I think that’s what it’s called, where the chicken turns a bit white from being exposed to cold when it hasn’t been covered properly?)

Foil? Freezer paper is plastic coated isn't it?

Freezer paper is like baking parchment it use to be similar to wax paper. It protects well against freezer burn.
You could ask your butcher to wrap and label each piece.
I have my butcher parcel everything for me (4 rashers of bacon per pack) (chicken breasts and other cuts 2 per pack) label and date.
