Freecycle response - is it me or is this really cheeky?

DS1 has discovered recently that he prefers riding an old-fashioned lightweight racing cycle to big clonky mountain bikes, so I just posted a Wanted on freecycle asking if anyone has one they don't need any more - the first response is from someone saying yes he has one but it's too good to give away, if nothing else turns up will I buy his?

Seems to miss the point of freecycle really!

yes ,not the idea really, why don't you suggest a swap

BettySpaghetti · 14/02/2007 13:44

I think that goes freecycles rules - is he (the one offering the bike for sale) a regular on freecycle or someone chancing their luck?

funnypeculiar · 14/02/2007 13:44

defn seems to have misunderstand the 'free' bit - maybe he just read 'cycle?!'
Hope you get a good free one

Yes I think that entirely misses the point!!

I wouldn't offer him money for it on point of principle - that's what ebay (with its listing fees etc) is for. Cheeky sod.

lol, fp

I don't know if he's a regular, BS - the local one is quite new and I only found out about it a couple of weeks ago - do you think I should report him?

Someone on one of the less local ones gave away a Sony Viao laptop last week, for heaven's sake - nothing is "too good to give away"!!!

JanH · 14/02/2007 13:53

Well I've just sent him a snotty reply mentioning the Sony Viao.

I will report him then - thanks all
