Butt owners - do you have a stand

Have just bought some water butts. Do I need to shell out for the quite expensive stands or will a few bricks piled up do?

Ours is on an upturned milk crate - installed by previous owners, not too much on view - does the job lovely

Bricks piled up will do nicely (and go further in publicly displaying your eco-credentials ), but make sure you measure them for height against your watering can, otherwise you can get achey arms or have to do tricky angling.

Think ours is couple of bricks and a concrete slab. It's tucked away where no one can see it though.

Thanks all - milk crate is good - trying to think how I can sneakily steal one from the milkman! AFter thinking I didn't need stands as seem to have loads of old bricks around garden, I piled them up for Butt 1 and ran out.

As have gone for complex 3 butt arrangement (slimline ones to avoid blocking up my side passage) - I may have to resort to stands after all.
