Old WIFI modems and stuff - what to do ?

I have changed broadband provider several times in the last few years for various reasons and I have a mountain of old leads and modems , any advice on what to do with them ? I've saved them for a reason as it seems madness to throw them out ...

Take them to your local recycling centre.

sometimes the modems are still worth money on Ebay, check before you bin.

Will they really be recycled - I thought they'd just put them in landfill ?
I'd had that idea already !

Do you have bins in your area for WEEE? Small electricals and electronics can get recycled that way.

I think they do recycle them, but possibly BH sending container loads to a developing country where they are recycled for pennies by workers in unsafe conditions (burning insulation off wires etc)

It sucks trying to be ethical.
