Recycling Glass - quick question

Valsoldknickers · 09/01/2015 09:53

Just wondering, can anyone tell me whether it is acceptable to throw a glass jar with remnants of candle wax (eg, a Yankee Candle) into the bottle bank?

Our normal household waste is charged by weight and these things are heavy but I don't want to mess up the bottle recycling either! TIA.

I always do. Scrape as much wax out and recycle, I say.

Carefully fill the jar with very hot water. The wax will rise to the surface and solidify as it cools, then you can pick it out. Smile

it will only get ground down and used as aggregate so, as long as its as clean as you can easily get it, it will be fine
