maggot infestation swarming out of my green/brown food/garden waste bin

I just feel so miserable- as if trying to be ecologically good can so often end up being such hard work and this infestation feels like some irrational punishment…. this is so foul I've been trying to tackle them for three hours, I'm exhausted, they are crawling all over the drive and god knows all over the neighbours' too, it's just awful.
why can't karma reward me for trying to be green!

I've just posted on your other thread - please stop and go to bed. They are just maggots and they will be gone in the morning.

You are giving the neighbours more to talk about by running ragged with the kettle - just leave it and if anyone mentions it shrug your shoulders and hold your head high. You've done nothing wrong and it probably won't happen again, especially if you can use bags now.

Please go to bed now.

ok, just this last kettle then….
[emoticon of woman lying in the road being eaten by maggots… but too tired to get up and go to bed….]
thanks Happy

NO MORE KETTLES!

GO TO BED (the birds will be up soon, and boy are they going to sing!) ;)

Happy! you were right! I went to bed and couldn't get to sleep I was so wired but maybe got two or three hours, got up at 6.30 and every single little was gone! except for a tiny handful. But I think I finally killed the bin majority with my kettles so my I reduced the horror!
The bin men have been and emptied it so I am now kettling it clean
HOOORAYYYYYYYY
THANK GOD
now I have a whole day to stay awake while looking after these children….
