I can't work it out

Would it show you how much appliance cost or just the whole lot - is there anything you can plug an applaince into and see how much it costs or even just uses

It's quite easy really - we bought ours from {http://www.greenandeasy.co.uk}. You attach it to the inboind electricity cable (there is an explanation on their site) and it sends the info on your elec consumption to a monitor. Then you can see at a glance what things are using by switching them on and off (obviously if it's the only light in the room, use a torch to see the monitor when you turn the light off ) It is very suprising - we made loads of changes to our habits when we could see instantly the effects, for example not leaving mobile phone charger plugged in and switched on when not actually charging, TV off standby, turned kitchen spotlights off when sitting in the living room all evening and so on. The monitor can show the £ value too. Hope this helps.
