ethical/green clothing - where to buy that doesn't cost a fortune!!!

Questions in the title really, as we're moving into more organic foods and cleaning products, I've been thinking about our clothes but everything I've seen's just so expensive.... any ideas?

I don't know how old your children are but I like to think my purchases from NCT sales and ebay are green in the fact that the clothes are getting reused.

I buy mine new shoes but about 90% of their clothes are second hand (and you wouldn't know it to look at them).

We get a Greenfibres (.com) catalogue but I haven't ordered any of the clothes so can't vouch for them.

Topshop are selling baby girls clothes now and some of them are the organic items.

I don't think it's a girl anymore... I know it's meant to be 80% but I feel like it's a boy.. at least it adds to the mystery!

If you want to be green, I'd say secondhand stuff is the way to go. The energy has already been used to make the clothes anyway then.

If you want organic stuff, I've had some good bargains off ebay.

Are you a knitter/sewer perchance? You could always make some bits. Greenfibres do organic wool, so do myriadonline.

Also, hemp is usually not sprayed as it is so weed resistant, ditto bamboo.
