Recycling CDs...help please

Am in the middle of entering a load of CDs into Music Magpie as part of a big clear out to make room for DS' things. However I have a number of singles/broken CDs/ones which MM doesn't want/old re-writable discs (nothing personal or worth worrying about, mostly essays) which I'd like to recycle somehow.

Google and a search on MN have turned up a lot of old companies that don't seem to exist anymore, or only work with businesses who have more discs than I do.

Any tips on how to dispose of the discs in an ethical or eco friendly way would be very welcome.

TIA.

You can use them as bird/cat scarers in the garden, hanging from string, they swing and reflect light.
You can recycle them into coasters or enamel paint them to use them as greetings cards.

we used ours as funky bird scarers on the allotment. stick a notice on freecycle to see if they are of use to anyone...

My council now accepts them in recycling bin. The discs and the plastic cases.

I flogged all mine on Music Magpie too, had to dump all the unsellable ones.
