I want to give my 7 year old niece a year's membership of an environmental/conservation/wildlife organisation for her birthday (she'll be 8 in July). Can anyone recommend one that is particularly good at involving children? She's interested in animals, birds, sea animals etc, and lives in Scotland.

thanks!

Nature Detectives are part of the Woodland Trust. Your niece would get a pack every season of outdoor activities to try, with a post of stickers to track them, and a regular e-mail with more ideas. They have lots of free stuff on their website too to get a feel for what they offer. The activities are a mix of crafts, learning, cooking and just get-out-there-and-get-muddy!

I think the wildlife trusts (Scottish Wildlife Trust would be her one) do a children's club with similar newsletters etc, plus activity days.

Thanks, these are good ideas.
