Green cleaning products - is there a store or website which has a full range ?

I want to switch to "green" cleaning products and get rid of the toxic polluting chemicals in some of today's kitchen cupboard nasties. However, I'm having trouble finding a store or maybe even wholesaler who carries it a full range of items.

Aside from them needing to actually work, I'm not that fussy at this stage but the local supermarkets don't have enough to choose from.

Do you know any decent stores or websites for ethical or green cleaning products ?

3.14 - See link to Summer Naturals. They sell basic stuff (in bulk quantities) to make your own green cleaning products inc. white vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, borax substitute...

Or... were you after ready-made cleaning products?

Larger Waitroses usually have the full range of Method cleaning products. I tend to buy in bulk when I find them in store. John Lewis also stock them. I use the all purpose cleaner, the window spray, the toilet cleaner, the hand cleaner, the washing up liquid and the clothes washing liquid.

i've just started to use the Method 'Tub and Tile' spray, it's really good. Smells fresh instead of 'just been bleached' but works too.

I got the whole range from Method about a year ago (there was a special offer going on!). I have only used two products so far:

  • the grapefruit multi-surface cleaner: lovely smell but ineffective at cleaning - CIF is much better! Bicarbonate of soda would be better too.
  • the mint bathroom cleaner: the smell is too strong in my view. It also requires much elbow grease.

So... I am not really convinced about the effectiveness of the Method products I have tried.

I use the Ethical Superstore for all my cleaning stuff - usually very efficient deliveries. They also have good ethical toiletries too.

Have a look at the SUMA website..can't link, sorry.. which has a massive range!
It's mostly wholesale, I think, but every so often I and a few friends club together to scrape an order over £200 (I think) which is the minimum order for 'trade'.
Fantastic bulk buying for organic and fair trade food, toiletries etc...
Highly recommended

Method is in Waitrose and Sainsburys stores and Ocado sell nearly everything. Try the tub scrub instead of CIf it's really good and their new clementine kitchen spray smells fabulous.

www.naturalcollection.com/ is another alternative.
