is the black meant for the kitchen to be decanted later to the large green one?do you put a liner in them or just slop it in?
are there any problems with vermin?
any top tips please.

I gave up with mine as I have so little food waste: it just went mouldy before even the tiny bin was half full. Smelt gross. So now it goes to landfill.

What about using a compost caddy in the kitchen? They're only about a fiver. Has a degradeable liner and a filter so shouldn't smell -- tie the top of the bag and put onto the compost heap

We got a small caddy for the kitchen and a bigger bin for outside.
Liner goes in the caddy next to sink. All scraps etc in there.
Every other day (or if fish etc then same day) liner gets tied up and out into bigger black food bin outside. It locks and has been fine so far - no foxes etc.

ah,didnt realise i could seal a liner and put whole thing in.had visions of a sloppy bucket to clean. thanks
