Cyclng with a trailer in Oxford - safest routes?

We've just bought a bike trailer to take DS to/from nursery, but DH and I can't decide the safest routes around Oxford. Need to get from top of Abingdon Rd to Jericho.

Petrified of St Aldate's...

Any advice, Oxford cycling Mumsnetters?

When I got a trailer I signed up for an hour's training www.outspokentraining.co.uk/ which included working out the best route. Don't know if they have anything equivalent in Oxford - try www.cyclox.org/.
